Nunsense has it all

Nun-believable - playing at The Art House in WyongNun-believable - playing at The Art House in Wyong

Wyong Drama Group’s July production of ‘Nunsense’ by Mr Dan Goggin, will delight audiences of all ages.

Director, Ms Margaret Holdom, has assembled a talented cast of five quirky nuns to deliver a show which features star turns, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises. The story begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials.

The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the Year 8 production of Grease. Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina (Ms Ruth Jordon), a former circus performer, Sister Mary Hubert (Ms Cathy DeVries) the Mistress of Novices, a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne (Ms Amanda Daniel); Sister Mary Leo (Ms Bella Nakhoul), a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia (Ms Jillian Logan), the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head.

Nunsense runs from July 20 to July 28 and all bookings can be made through The Art House Wyong.
