Winter Sleepout Appeal a success

Secondary students experience first hand the difficulties in sleeping rough in winter

Mary Mackillop Catholic College students successfully completed their Winter Sleepout Appeal on June 29.
“Congratulations to all of our students for a successful Winter Sleepout Appeal,” said College Principal, Mr Stephen Todd.
“Organised by Year 12, Mini Vinnies and Mini Macs, this event involved everyone across primary and secondary, and saw a Pyjama Day, can food drive, special event and sleepout.
“Designed to highlight the need for more support for children in foster care, and youth suffering homelessness, it also provided a learning experience for our students.
“Our community would like to sincerely thank everyone for their donations, whether it were gold coins, canned food or cardboard boxes.
“We are so grateful that you helped us make this an enormously successful event,” Mr Todd concluded.
