With 15 anxious residents in the Council Chamber, there was a real sigh of relief when the Councillors voted in favour of a re-design of the proposed Winney Bay access.
Residents have been concerned with the proposal for vehicle access, a bridge, destination wedding platform, market stalls and clearing of Costal Open Space System COSS on the Bulbararing cliff top.
Indigenous elders, locals, environmentalists, and members of the Australian Conservation Foundation were all very pleased with the re-focus back to the original plan of a bush trail rather than vehicle access.
Thanks needs to go to the councillors who listened to the residents’ concerns and have re-focused on the environment rather than concreting bushland.
