Driver who was disqualified from driving until 2057 caught driving

A driver who fled from Traffic and Highway Patrol Officers in Long Jetty, only to end up crashing his vehicle, faced Wyong Local Court on February 25.
At about 4:30pm on February 24, a Tuggerah Lakes Highway Patrol officer attempted to stop a blue BMW in McLachlan Ave, Long Jetty.
The vehicle sped off and then lost control a short distance away.
It left the roadway, landing in a deep bushy culvert on the side of the road.
The vehicle was partially submerged in water.
The driver, a 37-year-old male, exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
The Highway Patrol Officer chased him through a creek and eventually arrested him.
The passenger in the vehicle was later assessed by Ambulance, with no further treatment or action necessary.
Checks revealed the driver was disqualified from driving until 2057, and was later charged with Disqualified Driving, Pursuit Skyes Law and Breach of Bail Conditions.
