Oil and gas exploration takes place with complete legal authority

In response to the letter from Gary Blaschke of February, (Wyong Chronicle 158) the Exxon Valdez disaster was in Alaska not California.
It affected over 1,000 miles of coast line.
The exploration off “our coastline” is taking place to see if there is in fact a pot of gold off our coastline.
Oil has been extracted from the Bass Strait for many years and there have been no spills.
Gas is piped to the Western Australia coast processing facilities with no “disasters”.
Until such time as oil or gas are found, the companies are acting with complete legal authority.
