Water restriction trigger lifted

Central Coast Council has advised through its Facebook page that “challenging times are ahead” with season climate forecasts indicating below average rainfalls.
“With the region already considered drought-affected, Council is taking steps to prepare for what could be challenging times ahead,” the official Council post reads.
“At our February Council Meeting, it was resolved to introduce an earlier trigger for water restrictions.
“The first level of water restrictions will be introduced if Mangrove Creek Dam reaches 50 per cent, which is lifted from the previously established trigger of 42 per cent.
“Mangrove Creek Dam is currently at 56.7 per cent.
“We know that our community is passionate about our water supply network and will be happy to make some water usage changes a little earlier, if required,” the post reads.
