New oxygen resuscitation kits for every surf life saving club

Beaches across the former Gosford LGA will now be safer thanks to the introduction of new oxygen resuscitation kits at every surf life saving club on the Central Coast.
The OTK oxygen resuscitation kits will be provided thanks to a $200,000 contribution from the NSW Liberal Government.
The state-of-the-art kits are used by NSW Ambulance paramedics, are easily portable, and will replace older models currently used at surf clubs.
“Our local surf lifesaving volunteers do an incredible job and these new resuscitators will help them continue to do so.
“It’s important that vital life saving equipment is available to trained first responders when they need it most.
“This commitment from the NSW Liberal Government makes that possible and will help to save lives,” said Member for Terrigal, Adam Crouch.
“I’m delighted that our local clubs at Killcare, Macmasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca Beach, North Avoca, Terrigal and Wamberal will benefit, as well as three emergency response vehicles that provide regional coverage,” Crouch said.
Surf Life Saving NSW CEO, Steven Pearce, said more than 1,000 surf lifesavers have now been trained in advanced resuscitation techniques and the OTK oxygen resuscitation kits will provide them with the best equipment to provide emergency medical care.
“This will make a huge difference and help our highly trained volunteers save more lives,” he said.
