Polling booth closed for two hours

Polling booth staff who manned the polling station at Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, The Entrance Campus, have been offered counselling after an elderly man died at the station.
At around midday on Saturday, March 23, an 80-year-old man attended the polling booth at The Entrance Campus and was waiting in line, when he collapsed.
Emergency services were called, but the man could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The booth was closed for around two hours as police commenced an investigation.
The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and it is believed that he died as a result of a medical episode.
In a statement issued by the NSW Electoral Commission, the Commission offered its condolences to the family of the man and confirmed that all polling booth staff who witnessed the incident would be offered counselling and assistance.
