Overturned caravan causes traffic chaos on M1

An overturned caravan on the M1 Motorway was to blame for northbound traffic gridlock on March 10.
The overturned caravan caused the closure of two northbound lanes, just south of Mooney Mooney, and caused significant delays for motorists, with traffic backing up 8kms at its peak.
Due to an excess of motorists exiting the Pacific Highway at Berowra and re-joining at Mooney Mooney, southbound motorists also experienced delays, with traffic queuing for 5km at its peak.
Heavy traffic persisted throughout the day with intermittent closures happening throughout, as the vehicle recovery operation got underway.
