The BreastScreen mobile van has arrived at Bateau Bay Square and women across the Northern Central Coast are being encouraged to take advantage of the service while it’s available.
The enhanced mobile van, which includes the latest mammography technology, makes it easier for women to receive lifesaving breast screens and is free for all women aged 50 and over.
As one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, early detection can be the greatest chance of survival.
The program is especially recommended for women aged 50 to 74 years, however, all women over the age of 40 are recommended to get screened regularly.
The BreastScreen van is located outside the shopping centre near Woolworths and will be open from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
The van will be on site until September 6.
