M1 motorists to move onto newly built permanent northbound lanes

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the M1 Pacific Motorway northbound approaching the service centre as work continues on the M1 upgrade between Tuggerah and Doyalson.
Work will involve removing a temporary shift currently in place and moving motorists to the left onto the newly built permanent northbound lanes for about 3.8kms, starting just south of the Alison Rd overpass and ending about 1.5kms south of the Sparks Rd interchange.
Recent adverse weather conditions forced the delay of the opening of the lanes, which was originally scheduled for July 1.
This will be the first of some upcoming changes in this area which will allow the existing southbound lanes to be improved.
More information about these southbound changes will be provided before work is carried out.
Transport for NSW did not provide a start date for these impending works but a Spokesperson said they would commence at some stage this July (weather permitting).
