Round 11 of the Central Coast Rugby Union Competition saw The Lakes lose out to Gosford and Ourimbah continue their winning ways.
The Match of the Day between Gosford and The Lakes at Gosford Showground resulted in a win to Gosford by 28 points to 5.
Gosford took control of this match very early on and were never headed.
In fact, for much of the first half Gosford was camped on The Lakes’ territory and The Lakes were finding it quite impossible to get out of that area.
The second half was a far more even affair with both teams having their chances of posting points.
However, because of their first half lead, Gosford never seemed challenged on the paddock and on the scoreboard.
They crossed for their fourth try midway through the half and this lead of 28 points to nil saw them gain the victory.
The Lakes did cross for a try right on fulltime, but the match was well and truly all over by then.
Gosford confirmed their third position on the competition table while the loss by The Lakes sees them drop out of the top four.
True to form this season, Ourimbah recorded another massive win, this time 62 to 7 over Hornsby.
It was basically one-way traffic for most of the match.
Ourimbah jumped to the lead very early in the match and were never to be headed for the entire 80 minutes.
Ourimbah led by 33 points to nil at the halftime break and then went on to record a further 29 points in the second stanza.
Ourimbah stay at the top of the competition table and maintain their undefeated record for this season.
