P Plate driver caught doing 161km/h

A 19-year-old P Plate driver caught doing 50kms over the speed limit has lost his licence and copped a hefty fine courtesy of officers from Tuggerah Lakes Highway Patrol (HWP).
At 8:35am on Saturday, June 15, officers from Tuggerah Lakes HWP were conducting stationary speed enforcement on the M1 Motorway at Somersby.
At this time, a NSW registered BMW was detected travelling at 161km/h in a signposted 110km/h speed zone.
The 19-year-old driver, from Punchbowl, presented police with a NSW Class C P2 provisional licence which restricts him to a 100km/h speed limit.
He was issued an Infringement Notice of $2,435 for exceeding the speed limit by over 45km/h.
His licence was also suspended for six months.
